Bush Report Hi to Everyone,

I cannot start before emphasizing how disappointing last Saturday’s weather was for the Bush Road Races!  So much time and effort goes in to organising a race, it is such a let down when the weather doesn't go our way!! It isn’t just for the riders, but also for the Officials, marshals, first aiders, and spectators. I feel sorry for everyone involved, cos it was shaping up to be a good days racing.

Practice went fairly well for me, I claimed three front row starts. Some riders may say that it is an advantage racing on your home circuit, but not for me! To be honest,   I feel much more pressure racing locally than I do racing further afield!

Although race day was cut short we managed to get a couple of races under our belt with second place in the open race behind Ryan.  Whilst I am chuffed with my result it was  just a pity that we were running a wet front and an  inter rear tyre, as I really believe that I could have brought the race a lot closer to him had  I  been  on  slick tyres and dry roads. But having said that, I am sure Ryan would still have won the race, but it would have made it more exciting for the spectators. Nevertheless it was still a great result for the team but also for the locals with, Paul Cranston in third and Trevor Ferguson finishing fifth.

The 250 race didn’t go according to plan as I ended up fifth after being second in practice!!   I expected to be running up front with Ryan, Andrew Neil and Davy Morgan but luck was not on my side! Congratulations to Andy, he was riding well, and also scored his first outright roads race win in the 125 class, beating another local, Nigel Moore!.

It was certainly a good day for the locals!

Well, that’s about it from the Bush road races, apart from wishing the Club every success in the year that lies ahead. Can I also take this opportunity to Congratulate Karen and Ryan Farquhar on the birth of their baby daughter Mya.

We are now getting the bikes ready for Athea this weekend, if you are down at Athea, don’t forget to pop in and say hello!!
