Mid Week Update ahead of the UGP Dundrod
Hello to everyone again, It seems rather strange that we are not doing a race report on a Monday morning! Having said that, it was nice to have the weekend off, and if nothing else, it gave all the lads a chance to earn a few brownie points for all the weekends they have been away!
As I write this, I am pleased to say that the bikes are all prepared for the Ulster.

After we all recovered from our Saturday night out, we took the lorry down on Sunday evening to the Paddock, give me racing any weekend! its a lot easier to get over!
Special Thanks to Leslie Moore for sorting out a few things for us and supplying me with my usual race number of 16, as its not a national event, no one is guaranteed their usual race no, So Thanks again, much appreciated, So don’t be afraid to give no 16 a wave next week!
that’s about all there is to report on the Ulster at this stage.
Some of you may be aware of the fact that I am going back to the Manx Grand Prix!, Yes, but the only way I can race at the Manx now is on Classic machinery! No doubt, this will be an experience!!
Last year, I was over at the manx for a few days, and helped out Ryan Farquhar and Trevor Ferguson, , there is something about the manx which I cannot put in words, so after I came home last year, I promised my self, all being well, next year, I would come back and race at it!
Up until recently, it looked like I was only going to have a 350 but thankfully all is now sorted and a 500 is being prepared as we speak, It has been a long story of phone calls to get to this stage but I have says a Big Thanks to my Friend and fellow competitor; Trevor Ferguson as it was he who got the ball rolling, there was a phone call made to Gary Jameson who in turn thought he could sort something out between himself and his mechanic Ian , but after some more thoughts, they gave Wallace Seawright a call, and they came up trumps.
Wallace , of course is no stranger to the manx, having competed in the classic races, as well as having done laps for charity so between Gary, Ian and Wallace they are going to have the Seawright 500 honda in tip top condition for my maiden voyage on a classic race bike!
Now onto the 350 , this has been sorted for quite some time now, Thanks to the Concrete man himself; RJ Woolsey, I never met a character like him in a long time…!! Simon and myself went down to RJ’s on Saturday afternoon to pick up the little Honda, RJ is really so excited about the thought of his little bike doing the Manx, to be honest, I don’t know whether he or I are the most excited!
RJ along with well known former classic champion- Adrian Elwood,They have both put a lot of effort into preparing the bike along with a spare engine (Hopefully I wont need that!!!) for it. I really hope that all works out for everyone involved and we can get a good run with finishes, so Thanks to everyone involved in the effort for both bikes, It is really much appreciated.
Thanks to the MGP organizers, I will be using my usual number 16 in both races!
During practice week on the island, I will hopefully be keeping in touch with Baylon who in turn has the task of keeping you all up to date as to what’s happening on the Classic front and how quickly ill need that spare engine! sorry RJ…!!! , Baylon will be over for a few days as well, no dobt, will bring everyone up to speed on the general happenings of the MGP on his own site.
It will probably be quite busy this week, but I will endeavour to have some reports on my Dundrod efforts as soon as I can.
Don’t forget, give us a call in the paddock!
