Apologies to everyone, for the lateness of this update, to be honest, I have been so busy since the North West 200, trying to get all sorted, both on my bikes, and at our work, as all been well by the time you read this, I should be en routé to the Isle of Man. Before we go any further, I want to offer my Deepest Sympathies to the Dunlop Family, to Louise, and sons William, Michael and Daniel, on the loss of their father /husband, Robert. Only a few weeks ago, I was on a boat trip organized by former road racer Con Law, and I had a great chat with Robert.

We talked about road racing, the past, the present and the future of the sport, we also had been talking about Martin Finnegans accident, and the awarness of the accident, Its hard to take in, that the we man is no longer with us. Along with thousands of others, I attended the funeral, and it was good to so many there, and give Robert the send off he richly deserved.

This is a hard time for William and Michael right now, but I hope they can take time to themselves before making any rash decisions regarding their future. Back to the North West 200, and before the event, I had hoped for top twenty finishes, whilst it is termed as a road race, it is really a short circuit on roads! In both Superbike races , I got as high as 12th/13th before my tyres went off, so I was still happy enough with 16th/17th placings. At the time, I was blaming the tyres, but, now I reckon we have a wee suspension problem! I was pretty disappointed with the superstock result, I over shot twice, I could have pulled in, but I stayed out for the lads, who had worked so hard throughout practice and race day.

I had great help and support from many fans over the week at the North West 200, and I just want to say Thanks to everyone who dropped in to wish me well. The lads who worked so hard during practice and race day, Thanks Lads, and also to the hard working Supporters club, they worked hard over the weekend, and brought quite a few quid into the kitty, Thanks to you all, it is very much appreciated. Reflecting on the whole week, I must say, I really enjoyed it, but Thursday nights incident overshadowed the whole meeting, Mervyn Whyte and all his hard working teams, really deserve credit for the show that was put on.

Before I go, just want to wish Darran Burns a speedy and full recovery from his injuries. Hopefully by the time you read this, I shouldn’t be too far from Monas Isle!, even though ive had to go the long way! If you are over at the TT, Please drop in to the truck for a chat. JB#16
