TT 2007 Monday Update

Sorry for lack of news yesterday, but to be honest , after Saturdays postponment of the race, there wasn’t much happening.

The weather wasn’t to kind on Sunday, so there was no way racing could have went ahead anyway!.

When things are quiet, we can always rely on Simon for a bit of entertainment!, he was in hospital for a few hours!, no not getting his stomach pumped out, but seriously, it was a bit more serious than that, on sat night, he swallowed a bit of steak, and choked on it!, not a nice thing, so we got him to the hosp, where they decided to keep him in, ( he might as well snore there as in the JB Motel!)

Anyway, it was Sunday evening before they let him out, but Thankfully he is as right as rain again, and a Big Thank You to the Nurses and Docs who put him back on track again.

Freddie and myself took a lap around the circuit on Sunday evening, it was pretty miserable, and certainly there wasn’t as many bikes circulating on it, no doubt the poor weather and Peel festival would have paid a part in this

Monday

Monday morn, and we await the first race of TT 2007, I knew there would be a delay, as we could easily see the mist on the mountain, but each time there is a delay, it can get a wee bit annoying, we get ready to go, and then to be told, another delay, but in the end, it was the wise decision, it was a bit greasy in places, but I was pretty happy.

At the end of  lap 2, I pitted, put on new rear tyre,  I re joined the race, but I had used all my tear offs by the time I got to Ballaugh!, this, coupled with the fact I got a few highsides, Braddan, Ballacraine, and somewhere else,  obviously, ther was something wrong, so I pitted at the end of lap 3, put a new visor on, but the spray was consistently affecting my vision, it was only after this, that I noticed fuel running down the inside of the fairing, which was going on to the rear tyre, so I continued round to the pits to retire.

It has turned out that a £5.00 return valve on the fuel line has hopefully cured the problem!

Later I took the superstock bike out for the single practice lap, and handling is much better, my standing start was just 4 secs shy of 120mph, so I a pretty happy with that

Thankfully, my shoulder was in pretty good shape to day, special Thanks must go to Fiona Gilliand, who came over on Sunday,

I was getting worried about how the boys were behaving, so I have flown in Dr John (Hinds) to keep the whole thing right! So no doubt there is certainly no shortage of medical advice now!

Looking forward to to day race, Remember, if you are in the Pits, Please feel free to call round to the Team Race Truck for a wee chat, you are most welcome.
