Final TT Report Senior

After taking the Superbike out to Jurby yesterday , I was still in an unknown mind as what bike to ride in the Senior, after a lot of thought, I decided to take the Superbike out .

Perfect conditions prevailed for the race, and it was started on time, I was really looking forward to this race, 6 laps of the Mountain circuit, where else would you get the buzz?

Anyway my first to laps were pretty ok, just short of 120 mph, something that miffed me a little, the guys are going faster, and I so much wanted to get over 120, but it wasn’t to be, as the bike started to overheat again, I kept going, but felt the bike starting to tighten up, so thought best to pull in. Appledene was where I retired, and I was soon to learn that the Manx Hospitality is second to none!.

Sandwiches were soon produced, followed by liquid refreshments, then something a little stronger!, ive never had Jack Daniels before, but it tastes pretty good!.

Congratulations to John McGuinness  on doing the business again, you’ve got to hand it to him, but hard luck to Guy, we can only speculate on what might have been, if the chain hadnnt jumped the sprocket, maybe Guy could have sprung a surprize, but hey, Well done Guy, youre day will come!

We went out on fri night, whilst Freddie and Raymond had to leave for home in the middle of the night, Thanks for your help lads.

Up early on sat, and out to Billown for the Steam Packet races.

I took the superstock bike out, whilst Simon and Stephen took out the engine of the Superbike, which Guy ( Martin) would take back with him, to see what the problem is.

We took this meeting as a wind down for what has been a hectic 3 weeks!, 10th in the 600 race was ok, whilst on the supestock bike I finished 9th, I enjoyed this race, .

After racing it was Pack up time, Simon is taking the lorry over to Heysham, and up to Stranraer, whilst I will take the Paddock Van home on the Belfast boat.

I am sure everyone is aware, of the Tragic incident on the last lap of the Senior TT, just when everyone thought that the TT had got away with one of its safest years ever, this unfortunate accident took place.

To the Families of the Spectators, and also to the Families of Marc Ramsbotham, I would like to extend my deepest Sympathies

In closing down my TT reports, I would like to say a Big Thank You, to EVERYONE who helped me at this years event, it wasn’t my best of TTSs, but there are so many names to mention, I could easily forget someone, but you all know who yous are, Also to EVERYONE who called at the Lorry, with best Wishes etc, You are all fantastic.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Bush Races soon, need to get ready for Bush Press Night on Tuesday night
