TT 2008 UPDATE 2

The Superstock machine seen above is now for sale
Its hard to believe, that we are now half way through TT week, so far so good, ive been pretty happy with the way things have been going. Looking back to the Superbike race on Saturday, and the weather was so hot, it was going to be a test of fitness and stamina.
I managed to work my up to 15th place at one stage, but to be honest, the last couple of laps, I lost concentration a little, and backed off, nevertheless, a Bronze replica was won, and I am happy with that, Credit to my Pit Crew, they did a tremendous job, wheel changes and fuel were spot on, Thanks Lads.
Pirelli Tyres gave me a different tyre for the race, as I wasn’t happy with what I had in practice, so Thanks to Pirelli, they were a good job. My opening lap, was my quickest ever around the mountain circuit, 121.20 mph.
I also had a problem, with the bike jumping out of 4th gear, John Harris is flying in new parts for the Senior, it doesn’t look as if I am going to get the bike out for a practice lap on Wednesday, as the parts wont be here on time.
Whilst, I enjoyed the race, there was a tinge of sadness for me, as I was riding, with just having been told of a family bereavment , the night prior the race.
After the race, we all went out for something to eat, and shared a few beers, This was my first night down town since arriving on the island some ten days prior.
It was good to wind down, and it felt rather strange being out of the paddock for a while.
Moving on to Monday, and with Two races in store, it was going to be tough going. In the Superstock race, I managed to catch the guy in front of me, but when I went to pass him, I got a big slide!, so, I bid my time, and had another go, this time at the mountain box, and guess what, same again, another slide, so when I came into the pits at the end of lap two, I got Simon, to take a couple of clicks of the re bound, and it was a great help, my last lap was over 120.5, so I was happy enough with that. On hindsight, I was hoping for a better result, but I aint complaining.
The Superstock machine is now for sale, so if anyone is interested, give me a shout.
(also for sale, is my 600 FW Tuned Honda!)
I had a good race in the 600 race, it was my first time on the yamaha, I had a good scrap with young Ollie Linsdell, and I have to say, how impressed I was with his riding, he was good and smooth, and for someone, who hasn’t to many laps around this circuit, he was very impressive, in fact, to be fair, he probably helped to tow me along!
What about the heart breaking news, of Brucie being disqualified?, I really feel sory for the TAS team, along with Bruce,
I Know Philip Neil wouldn’t come to the TT, or any other race with an illegal engine, They have too much to loose.
And a hearty congratulations to Michael Dunlop, a lap of over 122mph!, and to finish in 10th place, superb. Michael was having problems during practice, as he was running out of fuel at the Bungalow each time, so, I blew out his tank for him, and it seems to have done the trick.
Last night, we went to the prizegiving, collected three bronze replicas, from three starts, yep, that will do ok!
To day, we are checking over the 600 for to morrows race, the weather could be a bit iffy from what I gather, but heres hoping it will be ok for the race.
Before I go, I must say a BIG Thanks to everyone, who has stopped by for a chat during the past week, it is good to have a chat with everyone, and ALSO to everyone, who has being buying tickets for the minimoto, your support has been tremendous, Thanks everyone.
Don’t forget, we are still here for a few more days, so if you are on the island, call in for a bit o craic.
